Diana Page

Diana Page, is an artist, educator and writer whose work in painting and drawing, and performance is impacted by her life lived between two homes, South Africa where she grew up, and Istanbul, Turkey, where she has her home and studio on the Bosphorus strait. She holds a Masters of Fine Arts (Painting)  from Rhodes University, South Africa.

In her work she attempts to create thought on, and delight in, the urban and wild spaces that shape us as communities, citizens, and people. Her poem-like oil paintings, and library of sketchbooks invite the viewer to reconnect with their own stories of place and home. Her solo exhibition Walking on a Rim of Light opened in February 2022 at the Oliewenhuis Art Museum in South Africa. Recent solo exhibitions include Shearwater at the Henry George Gallery, Johannesburg, South Africa and Trans-Idyllic at Buyukdere 35, Istanbul. In 2016 she launched a creative hub via skype, The Art Wonderers, connecting global citizens through drawing, which continued with increased urgency during the time of the pandemic. Her work is held in the Jack Ginsberg Artist’s Book Collection at WAM, Johannesburg, the University of Cape Town collection and numerous other public and private collections worldwide.
